LEADING Gold Coast jewellers, Birkbecks, have taken naming rights of a major raceday during the 2007 Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Carnival (1st – 19th January).
The Southport-based family business has taken sponsorship of the Birkbeck's Jewellers Bat out of Hell family raceday on Saturday 6th January.
Their support sees them take naming rights of the 900 metre Bat out of Hell feature race which offers $25,000 prizemoney as well as trophies for the winning owner, trainer and jockey.
Birkbecks also receive naming rights to four other races on the day.
According to Gold Coast Turf Club Chairman, Bill Millican, the iconic firm has been one of the Turf Club’s greatest supporters over the years.
“Birkbecks was founded at Southport over 90 years ago and are one of the Gold Coast’s true family business success stories,” Mr Millican said.
“The support we have had over the years from Michael and Liz Ford has been tremendous and I’m rapt that the Birkbecks name will feature so prominently during January’s Magic Millions,” he said.
Mr Millican said the day will feature family entertainment with ‘Racing Rascals’ free entertainment, pony rides, jumping castle and face painting.
The ladies will enjoy the summer fashion parades and fantastic prizes are also on offer in the Pacific Fair Fashions on the Field.
Entry for under 18’s is free and the gates open at 10am.
Free courtesy buses will run from Tweed Heads and Paradise Point.
