CALL OF THE CARD TO SET EARLY CONRAD JUPITERS MAGIC MILLIONS PACE

GOLD Coast Turf Club Chief Executive, Grant Sheather, believesbookies will offer punters top odds across the field in every race at next Monday’s (24th March) Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions feature raceday.
He was speaking as Peter Laird, Jason Searle, Vince Aspinall, Gary Corrie and Parlay 888 prepare to take on some of the country’s biggest and most ruthless punters at the 2008 Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Call of the Card at the Gold Coast Turf Club on Saturday evening (22nd March).
The Call, to be staged in the Member’s betting ring after the final race of the day, will frame the early million dollar feature race markets.
“The serious punters know its best to get in early because they probably won’t see prices like those on offer Saturday night on the Monday,” Mr Sheather said.
“They get top odds at the Call of the Card – it’s the start of the betting really.
“There’s a lot of cut and thrust, but it’s a great way of seeing which way the markets are going.
“A lot of the southern punters will be up. They love the Call and they don’t mind being seen putting their money on the table,” he said.
Last year’s Call of the Card saw a packed betting ring and over $250,000 wagered on the night.
The 2008 Call follows what is sure to be a hectic day of Easter Saturday Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions racing – the first race day of the 2008 carnival.
