TURF CLUB DEFIES FINANCIAL CRISIS
CLUB BEATS ODDS IN FINANCIAL CRISIS WITH WEEKEND FIGURES
Date released: TUESDAY 12TH MAY 2009
THE Gold Coast Turf Club’s Skyline Restaurant took dining to new heights over the weekend as bookings rose 40% on those of the same time last year.
The weekend’s meeting also saw an increase of 30% in attendance and an average inflation of 15% over recent weeks.
Turf Club Chief Executive Officer, John Cameron, says the jump in figures is more than pleasing.
“The mood on course has been great and I think the weather has also helped in generating our numbers,” Mr Cameron said.
“The Gold Coast is an ideal location and the tracks central position provides the perfect excuse to enjoy a day out with friends and family.
“And the Club is constantly undergoing upgrades to ensure all patrons are comfortable and catered for,” said Mr Cameron
And the latest upgrade to the Skyline Restaurant has recently been completed with extensions carried out to cater for the increasing demand of the venue.
With an additional 10 tables, the restaurant is now near to full most weekends.
And its popularity has resulted in the Club creating a superior dining package named Skyline Gold.
Mr Cameron commented on the new package influencing the rising attendance figures.
“The Club is improving a number of facilities and the Skyline Gold dining package is just one of these improvements,” he said.
“I think our efforts are showing - we have more products to offer, better facilities and a unique experience,” Mr Cameron said.
The Gold Coast Turf Club has a race meeting this weekend, Saturday 16th May.
Gates open at 10:00am and gate entry is only $7.
